Everything is Better with Aunt Marie

Marie was an aunt that I saw as an artist and nurturer. The way she would have hospitality and greeted you. She would make all feel like the center of attention. She would create her meals almost like a symphony and not viewed as a cook. Cooking is too basic. It would all flow together with harmony and balance.

Her quilts were not just crafted but made in love and honor. 💕 Her garden was composed and not just planned. Designed with the viewer in mind. She would care and nurture. Her cats were free roaming and waltz through the home knowing they were adored.

As a niece, I witnessed beautiful friendship of my mom Patricia and her. Conversation over The scones, tea and chocolate. They shared such passion with gardening, family and meals. Both of them together would make us smile.

My mom would freeze a lot of her scones or pastries to share with us. The plastic frozen container she would pull out saying this is from Marie was one of our treasures and refuel our day or visit.

Marie was easy to love. Micheleen is such a treasure and should would beam to just mention her name.

The last time that I saw Marie …she would share how kind Uncle Steve is and helpful. Same about numerous people. My sister Anita Marie (named after her) demonstrated such faithfulness and Marie was faithful and grateful for the care.

Aunt Marie let me live with her for a Summer in upstate New York to babysit yet I was overly spoiled with all the trips, food and conversation.

We will miss her every day yet so grateful to even be counted as a friend of hers. These memories will live on and shared for years to come. Aunt Marie was a beautiful creative treasure to us all. As my mom would express in many forms or ways “Everything is better with Aunt Marie”
