When I was a teenager, my sister Heidi and I were visiting Steve, Marie and Micheleen in Texas and we were driving off on one of the many fun adventures we did together…
I had just had my wisdom teeth pulled and wanted to show the gory pair to Marie. Thinking they were corn nuts, she took one and popped it in her mouth.
This was quite embarrassing for me since I had to ask to get my tooth back (before she broke one of her own!) and I felt bad that I didn’t actually have any snacks to offer.
I thought she might also be mad or horrified that she had my ex-tooth in her mouth. However, she just gave it back and laughed. This what what was so perfect about Marie. She just took everything in stride. She was kind and easy-going and compassionate. I am glad I could have made her laugh once or twice.
